Product Description
This traditional absinthe fountain is an essential part of any authentic absinthe set. A reproduction of the vintage Belle Epoque fountain, it captures the spirit and culture of 19th century France and embraces the absinthe ritual. Traditionally, absinthe is poured into a glass straight and a specially designed slotted absinthe spoon is placed over the glass. A sugar cube is then placed in the bowl of the spoon and cold water is slowly poured or dripped over the sugar cube until the drink is sweetened and diluted to taste. The addition of water causes the herbs to "blossom" and brings out the flavors of absinthe that are originally overpowered by the anise. Fully functional and highly decorative, this vintage fountain is comprised of an elegant mouth-blown glass jar, which sits atop a beautiful base hand made of heavy brass and finished with metallic plating. The acorn style lid removes easily to add cold water and the four metal faucets operate independently, allowing a slow drip to dilute each of your absinthe cocktails perfectly. In stock and ready to ship. Features: Hand made of heavy brass & finished with metallic plating. Reproduction of vintage 19th century Belle Epoque fountain. Mouth-blown glass bowl. Fully functional and highly decorative. Allows you to prepare up to four glasses of absinthe at once.
